The 15 Day trip to Vietnam - The Mandarin Route - Day 11 (morning cont.) - Ninh Binh - Tam Coc boat ride; lunch on the way to Halong city - The 27th of May 2016

The low metal rowing-boat ride along the watery landscape and three long caves in the Ninh Binh area was one of the nicest I have ever been on. I am not surprised Tam Coc is promoted locally as the Halong bay on land. The green changing colours of the shrubbery and trees on the Ngo Dong river banks were incredibly beautiful. Having to lower down one's head as one entered the caves gave us a feeling of fearful mystery and adventure.

Boats are tipically rowed by local women though there were two men rowing with their feet ... in fact we owe one of them some of the photos we were taken after having turned back at the Trung Nham Ecotourism Bird Parkzone to make our way back.

Photos may not convey the peacefulness and beauty of the surrounding atmosphere but so won't words, I don't think ...

Our 220 kilometre drive to Halong city included some stops on the way, and the lunch stop was one of those we appreciated most ...
