My Liverpool trip - Day 2 (noon) - Around St. George's Quarter - St. George's Hall and Walker Gallery's façades; Wellington's Column - The 27th of November 2015

We soon reached the Lime Street train station where we had lunch and confirmed the train timetables for Chester which we wanted to visit the following morning.

The whole surrounding area was impressive with its magnificent neo-classical buildings which are said to have been created to celebrate the patronage of the arts in Victorian times.

The Doric column erected in 1836 to commemorate the Duke of Wellington stood proudly in the middle of those buildings.
