The 6 day trip to Denmark and the United Kingdom - the morning of the third day - Helsingor and Kronborg. (cont) - The 21st of July 2012

(...)

Before we left Kronborg we had one last look at the Palace Courtyard before sitting out on a wooden bench close to the Flag Bastion eating our sandwich  and preparing ourselves to wander about the town.

Kronborg's old 1760 cannons are said to still fire salutes to mark special occasions regarding the Royal family or whenever the Royal yacht Dannebrog passes by. From the Bastion we could get a magnificent view over the harbour and the city, which is where we headed afterwards.

We had to once more go through the Marienlyst Park with its dancing "nymphs". We felt happy and for moments felt like doing what they were doing.

The traditional Scandinavian houses in bright colours made us feel like walking in a sort of wonderland. We had never seen anything like it ... so we took our time to just stroll around the narrow streets and feel the medieval like atmosphere ...

Most of those seemed to be concentrated within the same area, so after having walked back and front so as not to miss any , we continued towards  the heart of the city a little further down.

(to be continued)
