I have yesterday been given money to ensure that six Cape Verdian girls (Ineida Patricia, Ineida, Juliza, Jussara, Claudina and Melissa) keep on attending school. The money was provided by Casanova, Isabel Mégre, Cristina and Mafalda respectively.
I have also been handed the birthday presents for Juliza, Jussara and Claudina, together with the participation fee for the birthday party that is to be organised locally.

I am very grateful to those who responded to my "appeal" regarding the young Cape Verdian girl from Calheta (Ângela) who needs to pay for the University enrolment fee she was not able to last year, so as to have her scholarship process be considered.
Thanks to the precious contributions of Dina, Mr. Breitenstein, Casanova, Rosario and myself she is now closer to being able to achieve a dream she is rightly entitled to, mostly because of her well deserved good marks, her inner drive and above all her perseverance in striving for a better future. Any extra money I may be able to "collect" will be used to minimize her travel expenses to Assomada (a city close to the village where the University is located).
Lurdes and I will be paying for the photos taken in the last trip to Calheta, which will ultimately be handed to the girls and boys, who had their birthday party, so that they may forever remember someone cared.
Despite the difficulties we are going through ... solidarity still exists and our little big project has clearly proved that. May everyone who has been committed to it be blessed.
